Video: Refuge Recovery and Recovery Dharma: What Happened?

Here’s a video I’ve been meaning to post for a long time. In it, I discuss the history and drama that resulted in the splitting of the original Refuge Recovery community into two groups, with Recovery Dharma taking on the members who no longer wanted to be associated with the original founder, Noah Levine.

It’s a tough story to tell both because it’s personal to me, and because there have been a lot of legal threats around speaking publicly about these issues, which is why I waited so long to share my version. Forgive me if my “disclaimers” make the video drag on a bit at the start.

The video lives on my YouTube channel about Buddhist recovery, where you can also find guided meditations and a few other videos introducing Recovery Dharma and discussing themes I think are valuable in healing from addiction.

May we all live at ease 🙏🏻
